I've been a baddddd blogger!

Sorry everyone, okay, all two of you, for being a lax blogger! I really have no excuse, just the usual business of life.

So, what have I been doing? Lately, I have been spending quite a bit of time on Kubota Jane cleaning up various fields. Remember the field I cleared last fall? Well, I don't have a picture, but I told you about it, I'm sure. This is what is looked like when I could finally drive over the repaired creek crossing to check it out.

I had this field down to bare dirt in the fall!

After some time with my tractor, this is what you get.

This is the back field after mowing last summer.

Gratuitous picture of me on Kubota Jane.

This is how the field looks now. I guess I have more tractor work to do...darn!

I started this morning by picking more blackberries.

I got two quarts today, for which I earn $4.00 (whoo hoo!) and had a run in with a big-ass large snake (eeww!) I was armed, but since he wasn't bothering me, I didn't shoot him. I thought that was a fair tradeoff.

This is today's harvest:

Taken this morning. I got 5 yellow pear tomatoes this afternoon!

Two quarts of blackberries, 3 zuckes, and 3 "stuffing" peppers that you couldn't stuff anything into!

And now the garden update in photos. Sorry for the blurry ones... it was hot AND breezy this afternoon!

Roma tomatoes about ripe.

Loaded Gala apple tree.

Improvised PVC apple support.

A pair of pears.

The lone "puzzy" peach.

Stuffing peppers looking good!

Okay, these peppers are really small too!

The Thai Pink Egg tomatoes are really set!

I guess that's it. I have been working in my studio on a valance for Studly, but there isn't anything to see yet. Both my girls are working at the same vet clinic! yesterday, a Siberian tiger came in with a broken tooth, and a guy drove 4 hours to bring in his two large hawks for... well, something medical. Their days are more exciting than mine, but I get to eat the "fruits" of my labor!! Bwahaha!

It looks like you have plenty to keep you busy there. Your pics are great. I can almost feel the heat. Will you make jam with those black berries?

I'm not sure if I will make jam out of the black berries this year or not. Probably not. I still have 3 or 4 jars from last year, and I'm the only one eating it!

I have been trying to develop a relationship with the local farm stand guy, since I don't have enough stuff to start my own table. I've been selling him my berries, but at wholesale prices. Sigh

I wish the tiger had come in yesterday, but alas that actually happened I think last year. But we did have some interesting patients and clients come in today... and I got to play with a lot of them. Sometimes it was fun and sometimes it was NOT!

Your garden looks beautiful. I wish I was there to look at it myself. I'm jealous of your berries too. I miss eating fresh blackberries. Can you stuff some through the phone for me, please?

Love you Mommy!

A Siberian Tiger??? Wow -- how does a vet keep from getting his hand bit off while he's checking out that tiger's mouth LOL??? It looks like you have a dream life to me -- I'd love to be out mowing the fields and bringing in the fruit!
