::30:: Day 7

Okay, seven days into my month of posting! I kinda thought this challenge would get my rear in gear to get out and do something post-worthy, but... yeah... not happening!

Nick thinks I'm only moderately more interesting than yesterday. He was asleep last night with his head on top of his outstretched paws on the sofa, but lifted his head when I took the picture. He sleeps in some of the oddest positions!!

Today was Stud Muffin's day off, although he will be taking a really long 6 day weekend coming up! We had an appointment to take my truck in for an oil change at 9 AM, which to my way of thinking, is way too early to have to drive 30 minutes into town! So we dropped the truck off and came back home.

I finished the mowing while Studly attended to checking car tires and filling them up. He also vacuumed interiors, which is super.

After lunch, we headed back out to retrieve the newly oiled truck and... sigh... headed home again! It was deja vu, all over again!

Once home again, I harvested the last of the spring vegetables. I pulled the cucumber vines and picked as many of the biggest bell peppers as I could stand to clean and freeze.

Other than that, it's been a quiet day. I finished my Nancy Drew PC game so that will save me some time each day. Then I took a nap. I know!! Very ambitious of me, eh??

Since I'm only (so far) willing to dabble in the lighter side of social commentary, I leave you with this very educational bit, courtesy of my friend Cindy in Singapore. You learn something new everyday... even on those days you take a nap!

Monkey Business

Once upon a time in a place overrun with monkeys, a man appeared and announced to the villagers that he would buy monkeys for $10 each.

The villagers, seeing that there were many monkeys around, went out to the forest, and started catching them. The man bought thousands at $10 and as supply started to diminish, they became harder to catch, so the villagers stopped their effort.

The man then announced that he would now pay $20 for each one. This renewed the efforts of the villagers and they started catching monkeys again. But soon the supply diminished even further and they were ever harder to catch, so people started going back to their farms and forgot about monkey catching. The man increased his price to $25 each and the supply of monkeys became so sparse that it was an effort to even see a monkey, much less catch one.

The man now announced that he would buy monkeys for $50! However, since he had to go to the city on some business, his assistant would now buy on his behalf.

While the man was away the assistant told the villagers. 'Look at all these monkeys in the big cage that the man has bought. I will sell them to you at $35 each and when the man returns from the city, you can sell them to him for $50 each.'

The villagers rounded up all their savings and bought all the monkeys. They never saw the man nor his assistant again and once again there were monkeys everywhere.

Now you have a better understanding of how the stock market works.
